Dog + doo doo=drainage problems

This is what happens when a 14-year-old boy cleans up dog doo-doo with paper towels and flushes it down the toilet.
Our dog, Donuts, looks innocent but is the maker of the doo-doo. When he has an accident, a clean up process begins. Duncan picks up the droppings, sprays half a can of lysol on the area, and scrubs it good.
But paper towels and our septic system do NOT like each other. John and I tried Wednesday night to use our drain snake to clean it out but was unsuccessful. Therefore, the toilet was dismantled so the Roto-Rooter man could clean out the drain.

Ugh! It is so tempting to use water but when it doesn't drain......don't! Now the shower, tub and laundry drains need to have the brown stuff from the backed up drains cleaned from them. Yuck!
Of course, the toilet was not cooperative. The bolts were rusted and stripped so John had to use the Dremel to saw them off. He came home during school (from early recess to lunchtime - much thanks to whoever covered his class) to get it done. It took John and Duncan about an hour to get the toilet off and the Roto-Rooter man took 20 minutes to clean it. Oh, bubba! It was a mess.

PROJECT: We will be digging and installing a clean-out drain on the west side of the house this summer to avoid future toilet removals when the drain backs up. Living in an old house with many, many trees around it has it's disadvantages!!
